The day started with some competitive performance by our Archery girls but they were against most tough opponents. That brought an end to our Archery hopes for a medal, however, Atanu will try today to move to QF. If he beats the mighty Korean then he is certainly in for a medal, unless he comes across another Korean in the next round.

Similarly, our both badminton duos were playing against world No.1 & 2 respectively, however the format allows them to stay in the competition. If they do well in next matches they can move to the next round. Jwala and Ashwini can beat any pair on a day. It was just a cake walk for Saina and Sandhu in their singles matches. Why no one is talking about PV Sandhu? Last two Olympics Saina is been alone and under pressure from mighty Chinese and if at all she plays to her full potential this time it will be largely due to the presence of Sandhu. If Sandhu plays to her full potential she may meet Saina in the knock out rounds. Srikanth did well in his singles round and he is equally exciting to watch.

It was unfortunate that Shiv Thapa had to fight No. 1 in his first encounter. It turned out to be a one match Olympic for Shiv. Our Golfers have started their campaign and in couple of days will know if they are progressing towards the podium. Star tennis pair Sania and Rohan moved to QF and one more match will give them podium sight.
