Well this is the season for fresh Matar and we must make the best of this season! Now if you want to enjoy Matar more often you need variety and new recipes. I decided to try Achari Matar yesterday. This is how it goes.
Preparation:
- Wash your Matar (a cup full)
- Cut some fine Ginger flakes
- Chop one Green Chilly finely
- Half cup of Curd
- Half cup of Milk
- One Tomato
Now let us start cooking this yummy Achari Matar.
- Take a pan and add some oil (or Desi Ghee) and put it on slow fire
- Add a tea spoon full of Methi Seeds, Sauf Seeds, Kalonji Seeds each with a pinch of Hing
- Add Ginger and Green Chilly Flakes
- Add chopped Tomato
- A minute later add 2 tea spoon of Dhaniya Powder, Salt to taste, Half Spoon Haldi, a pinch of Sugar
- Mix it well and add the Curd followed by Milk half a minute later
- Cover it and let it cook for few minutes – increase the flame or let it cook on slow flame only.
- Add your Matar few minutes later and let these cook for few more minutes
- Garnish it with chopped Hara Dhaniya just before switching off the flame.
Your Achari Matar is ready to serve and enjoy this with a Hot Chapati or just eat it like that.
